I am so very disappointed. Jeep's Grand Cherokees are Spartarian-like, utilitarian-like, STREET CREDIT-ABLE !! You don't need gimmicks and flash to sell this top model vehicle !! This vehicle represents heritage. It has a grate history, its rugged, tough, and yet solidly flawless. Owners of JEEP'S hate to lose them because "we know the value we have in  them". Maybe this will point you guys in the right direction; "Jeep's Grand Cherokee vehicles are designed as plug and play, utility-styled appliances for the adult play club. Not some flashy, fake wood imitation, switch-kit hydraulics' fad that wants to trick you into owning one". Look on e-bay see how many are up for sell compared to other vehicles (Even with the extreme fuel prices @ the pump).

This is what happens when you panic, you just put parts together hopping that this will sell. Again you big wigs just don't get it and you probably never ever ever will. It looks like it up to the next gen to show you guys what is right under your nose. Lets try this on for size,"Build a grate vehicle and they will come !!"  I know a for me I am not trading in my 05 Grand Lerado,( as we say in the streets..) for this  no way man, no way!!

Please, please take the time to learn the correct spelling of the words you include in your rant before you post it. Unless you meant to grate the car like cheese...it's GREAT!

Hard to take a guy seriously who doesn't know how to spell the word great!

Okay, a redo.  So we owned three jeeps, all loaded to the max.  What the newer designs seems to lack is interior function, as in utility.  No more dash top trays, a lack of real utility on the console.  It appears that there isn't much room for all one's gadgets and where are the convenient coffee holders.  Our last Dodge Nitro R/T had far more interior function. If this is "utility", show it two me.

I personally would consider my self a Jeep guy.  My previous Cherokee was a 95 Limited that I sold with 215k on the speedo and I currently own a 06 loaded Laredo and 78 CJ-7 (Owner of 15 years).  As for the 2011, I like it!  Off road capability has never been a question for this rugged brand but considering the competition in it's weight class, this vehicle needed some refinement.  I do not believe in what is happening with the beloved Wrangler (car like attributes) but the Cherokee has become the Premium vehicle of the brand and should look and feel as such.  The current interior is cheap; look and feel and there is little to know difference between a Laredo and Limited, a price difference of 10k to 15k.  Range Rover has a similar suspension and it works flawlessly off road and has a rich interior.  This is the Cherokee Jeep needs as long as they keep the cost down.  If you want a Wrangler SUV, buy the four door unlimited!

Re the spelling of "grate," perhaps mr. dubbs was making a play on words?  The familiar grill design of the Jeep GC resembles a street drainage grate.

This could possibly be best Jeep ever built! way to go Chrysler! a true North American Icon. Some people have no taste and no respect, the front grille resembles scenes from WW2, THIS JEEP IS A TRUE AMERICAN, it has nothing to do with "drainage" perhaps Mr. e. tramp supports the imports and doesn't really care about the fate of our economy.

The imports have copied everything and anything America's manufacturing have invented and built for the marketplace. I do hope Mr. tramp never looses his job or business, I still wish him luck.

Someone please stop Mr. Dubbs, he's killing me no, he didn't mean to write "grate" but will come back and lie and tell us all he did. Above all he is a great Jeep Lover & Owner so much that he doesn't know what Jeep he has. Hey Mr. Dubbs Jeep has never and will never create a "Grand Lerado" , son the spelling is killing us. ! FYI Jeep makes Grand Cherokee's and Laredo's but I guess you got that 3005 hybrid mixed edition of a Grand Lerado that flys like the cars in Back to the Future II. McFly... simmer down now! Can't wait to see the 2011-2012 SRT8 Jeep Grand Cherokee

This design works. The GRAND Cherokee was never meant to be a ruff and tumble off-roader like other Jeeps of the past. The Grand was originally the up-scale street-wise version of the original Cherokee.  If you want to do serious off-roading buy a Wrangler or maybe a Liberty. In fact, I think 2011 Grand is a little more rugged than the current model, which is a step in the right direction. It seems like Jeep has been trying to get back some of the success of the orginal Cherokee ever since it was axed for the orginal Liberty. This design definitely speaks the language of the original, but still remains modern.

I think the 2011 Grand Cherokee is beautiful & tough looking. A couple accessories like a brush guard and some real tires and it will be perfect. My husband has a 1993 Grand Cherokee Laredo with 150,000 + miles and I have a 2001 Grand Cherokee Limited (both are 4 wheel drives). We both hunt in North Florida and I've owned 4 wheel drives all my life but none as versatile as our Jeeps. We had a nasty thunderstorm this morning and as I was driving my son to school I was watching the drivers in front of me trying to keep their vehicles on the road as they were hitting the massive amounts of water standing in the road. My Cherokee plowed through it like it was nothing (and people have the nerve to ask why we have two 4 wheel drive Jeeps...) I personally think this new design looks more like the '99 thru '04 models which is my favorite body style (no offense to my husband or the owners of the '05 to present Grand'sOpen-mouthed). I just hope Chrysler doesn't jack the price up on them so high that we can't afford one.
