To emphasize the importance of the new Bravo, the entire Fiat display in Geneva was devoted to the new model with ten examples unveiled to the international media. The Bravo is also the first Fiat model to wear the new company logo that is intended to symbolize a period of change for Fiat as it tackles the challenges of the future.

The Fiat Bravo is a five-door hatchback described by Fiat as “agile and entertaining to drive, with an excellent balance between content and price.” The design is intended to call on traditional Italian styling but deliver to customers a solid car that is safe and reliable.

The launch of the new Fiat Bravo presents the new family of turbocharged T-JET gasoline engines (120- and 150-horsepower 1.4-liter Turbo) which combine fuel economy, low emissions and exceptional performance. The T-JET engines join the existing range of Multijet common-rail turbodiesel engines (120- and 150-horsepower 1.9-liter) and the 90-horsepower 1.4-liter 16-valve gasoline engine.

Safety equipment includes up to seven airbags, seatbelt pre-tensioners and load limiters and five head-restraints. Pedestrian impact was taken into consideration during the design to maximize the absorption of energy during this type of collision.

The new Bravo features sophisticated electronic equipment including ABS with electronic brake force distribution (EBD), electronic stability program (ESP) system with a Hill Holder and anti-slip regulation (ASR).

The new generation “Blue&Me” system, known as “Blu&Me Nav” is a Fiat Group exclusive, developed with Microsoft that combines the functions of an in-car information and communications service with a highly efficient pictogram navigation system, and access to a series of telematic services developed with Telecom Italia. Fiat describes the system as simple, useful priced right. (MSN is a division of Microsoft).

Other equipment includes dual-zone automatic climate system, two audio systems, a large panoramic roof, cruise control, rain sensor, parking sensors and fog lights with self-adaptive cornering function.

The Fiat Bravo range will be broad and comprehensive right from its launch, with a choice of five engines, 12 color choices and four trim levels: Active, Dynamic, Emotion and Sport.

The new Bravo also marks the first use of the new Fiat logo. Created jointly by RobilantAssociati and the Fiat Style Centrt, the new symbol is derived from the famous shield that found on the front of Fiat cars from 1931 to 1968, with the vertically elongated letters of the word ”FIAT” against a ruby red background with a chrome frame.

According to Fiat, the new logo sums up the mission of an Italian company, that for over one hundred years, has been building cars with beautiful styling that are accessible and enjoyable to drive.
