The E class looks like a Hyundai or even a Toyota.  Bland.

You are kidding.  The back of this car mabe looks like a Hyundai or Toyota, but thats because they coppied Mercedes design.  The front looks amazing.  Mabe I will replace my Audi A6 with that.

It looks like Jay Leno is going to have to make room in his garage for another car - Mercedes' version of the Mach 5! I would love to see some old couple driving down the highway with their goggles on in that.

I am disappointed with the new E series. I think it is OK but that is about it.  I like the lines on the side of the car, but would have like more styled tail lights and slightly larger head lights. I had hopes that it would have followed the styling concepts of the C. I think the current C series is beautiful - I just wish it were a bit bigger. I would kind of second the "bland" comment.  Hopefully it will be at the Chicago show in February. I look forward to seeing it.

I like the new model very much. I feel it follows the Mercedes traditonal styling. I am planning to buy one as soon as it is brought to local dealer.

It looks Ok, only OK. I still like my '89 300E, it still looks like a Mercedes.

The SLR looks great, but I'm sticking with my 380SL. Still get the wind in my hair, but no goggles and bugs in my teeth.....Baring teeth

Imagine driving through west Texas ... wind in your hair ... goggles on ... and all those giant grasshoppers attempting to get across the freeway.   Does it come with a toothpick?Smile

I can't help but laugh at these comments.... "Je1687", these cars have never been brought to dealers. You have to order it.  You all do realize this car is $1 million+... right??

Oh, and by the way, only current SLR owners are being given the priviledge of buying one of the 75 being built.

Brad....you are correct.  This is a very exclusive vehicle.  I have sold SLR before at a dealership in MO. and the "old" Mac SLRs were in the $500K range and you could not hold on to them.  This is definately one for the people who WANT one as it is a one of a kind car for an enthusiast.  I have several old customers who will be purchasing one of these for their collections.  As for the rear looking like a Hyundai????  Not sure you could mistake on of these Supercars for a Hyundai.
