Volkswagen debuted the CC Eco Performance Concept at the SEMA show in Las Vegas with a sleek new exterior treatment combined with powertrain upgrades that improve both performance and economy.  Finished in gray pearl with black chrome accents, the already sleek CC looks even more streamlined in this version. Custom front and rear bumpers, side panels and a machined aluminum rear spoiler complete the look.

On the inside, high-gloss piano black trim is offset by matte black graphics, while the black leather Recaro seats and floor mats are highlighted with white piping.

At the heart of the CC Eco Performance Concept is a 2.0-liter TSI that has been massaged with an APR Stage 3 turbocharger system and offers three driver-selectable performance levels. Full power mode delivers 311 horsepower and 313 lb-ft of torque; GT mode 252 horsepower and 268 lb-ft of torque; and Eco mode 222 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque.

Compared to a production CC 2.0T with automatic that is rated at 19/28 mpg city/hwy, the CC Eco Performance Concept in Eco mode gets 27/33 mpg city/hwy with a fuel economy increase even in full power mode.

    Jetta TDI Cup “Street” Edition

After completing the first season of the Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup, a racing series in which young drivers race in race-prepared Jetta TDIs, Volkswagen has created a “Street” version for the SEMA show.

The “Street” version features the same front bumper, side skirts and rear valance as the TDI Cup cars, along with the brakes and sway bars from the current Jetta GLI. The TDI Cup Edition rides on a European sport-tuned suspension with Yokohama 225/40R18 ADVAN sport tires and 18-inch multispoke wheels.  Power comes from Volkswagen’s 2.0-liter TDI clean diesel, which produces 140 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque, mated with the 6-speed DSG transmission featuring Tiptronic and Sport mode.

Inside the Jetta TDI Cup “Street” are a 3-spoke steering wheel with the TDI Cup logo and Interlagos cloth sport seats. According to Volkswagen, the Jetta TDI Cup Edition might be available as early as 2010 at a price of less than $30,000.

CC Gold Coast and Performance Tiguan

The Volkswagen CC Gold Coast was also on display at the SEMA show and features both luxury and performance upgrades to the sleek new 4-door coupe. Finished in DuPont’s Pepe Pepper tri-stage paint, which combines gold, brown and silver tones to highlight the body kit, CC Gold Coast sits on 19-inch Lugano polished wheels. Inside the CC Gold Coast, the four sport seats are finished in Latte Macchiatto and Cornsilk leather with bronze piping to match the accents on the dash and door trim.

On the performance side, the CC Gold Coast is powered by a 3.6-liter FSI V6 that produces 280 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque, combined with the DSG double-clutch 6-speed transmission with Tiptronic. The suspension has been upgraded to a KW coilover setup, and the CC Gold Coast is fitted with the ceramic brakes from the Audi R8.

Volkswagen also showed a high-performance version of the Tiguan, powered by the 2.0-liter TSI engine upgraded with an APR Stage 3 Turbo Kit that boosts the output to 295 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque, mated with the 6-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. Power is delivered through the 4Motion all-wheel-drive system.

The Rockford Fosgate custom audio system features 1,400 watts of MOSFET power. The new Power T1000-1bd 1,000-watt mono amplifier powers two P3D410 dual voice coil 500-watt Punch subwoofers, and a Power T400-4 amplifier delivers 400 watts of clean power to each of the door speakers. The entire system was integrated with Volkswagen’s multimedia player and DVD-navigation system.
