More and more automakers are choosing SEMA as the venue for new model introductions, and Hyundai joined those ranks with the debut of the all-new Elantra Touring. On sale next spring as a 2009 model, the new version of the Elantra will boast more interior space than any other 5-door in its class, according to Hyundai.

The Elantra Touring will also feature unique sport suspension and steering tuned for better handling, as well as standard features including Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with Traction Control, ABS with Electronic Brake-force Distribution, and six standard airbags, including side-curtain airbags.

The 5-door will also feature Hyundai’s first USB port, along with a standard auxiliary jack and standard XM Satellite Radio.

But in true SEMA fashion, the Elantra Touring made its debut as a heavily customized model. Created by K-Daddyz Kustomz of Bakersfield, CA, the Elantra Touring Beach Cruiser Concept was revealed by Kyle “K-Daddy” Gann himself.

The custom Hyundai sports an eye-catching surface painted two-tone with "Amazing Grape” and “Tango Orange" and features a front-to-rear panoramic sunroof. The grille is custom made, windows are tinted, special ground affects were added and completing the look are the 20-inch Konig Rolf Blix 3 wheels at each corner.

A high-end audio system is fitted inside with a titanium video system and a custom fiber-glass speaker enclosure in the cargo area.

Adding to the excitement of this flashy concept debut, Hyundai also announced that the Genesis Coupe Concept would make its world debut later this month at the Los Angeles auto show.

The Genesis Coupe concept will boast 300-plus horsepower and rear-wheel drive, and the production version will be revealed next spring at the New York auto show.
