Motoring Classic - Day 3/4
With Mount Hood in the background, the tour left Timberline Lodge and headed south towards Sisters, Ore. for lunch. On the way we hit torrential rains with impressive displays of lightning, but the rain had stopped by the time we arrived in Sisters, and aside from some damp clothes, everyone made it OK. Heading east from Sisters, the winding roads were a joy to drive. After a night in Eugene, Ore., the tour headed for the coast, stopping in Bandon Dunes for lunch on our way to Gold Beach where the Rogue River empties into the Pacific Ocean. A special treat – we left the cars behind and rode jet boats up the river to dinner.
